I celebrated my forty-first birthday this weekend. I spent the first half of my day with this dear one, on a Mamas Only adventure. A winding trail, a summit with a cool breeze and sweeping vistas, lunch eaten in the middle of a creek, good conversations, and a bit of Silliness (with a capital S!) - all of it was so so so good. And exactly what I needed.
Satiated from my mountain adventure, I arrived home in the late afternoon to a clean house(!), homemade blackberry pie, and homemade ice cream in progress. My people, not used to having me gone for such a long stretch, well, they genuinely missed me. I think my favorite 'present' was hearing Steve tell me how he spent the day just appreciating me.
We lounged in my birthday hammock (thank you, Jody!), enjoyed a very (extra)ordinary home-picked meal, and then dove into that blackberry pie and ice cream. As you might have guessed, my Boy picked out the bulldozer party plates.
My forty-one year old heart is full.
