I knew I'd end up making him a cape before his birthday, especially after he tried on big sister's. He was quickly charmed by the Power of the Cape. He came up to me with the sweetest love bug look on his face, and said, "Mama! Will you make me a brrrrm-y cape? Okay, Mama? Pleeeeese."
I had ideas of little woodland creatures...maybe a cute fox print, hedgehogs, or owls and trees. Well, don't you know I was the first person in the fabric store the next morning, finding my boy some brrrrm-y fabric.
By next morning, he was brrrrming all over the place. Just look at him charming that chicken. And me, too.
Slightly less exciting (for him, though not for me) is another pair of reversible Quick Change Trousers. I made these while I was finishing up the girl's birthday wardrobe last month.
A little patch, because brrrrm-ies.
The reverse side, with a clock patch.
How I love sewing for these children.
